Resolve, Passion and Purpose -
The Power of Intentional Living

A New Year Retreat to inspire and invigorate our motivation and intention for practice. Discovering our deepest purpose for practice, why we come to the mat and what sustains us during periods of lethargy and dull motivation. Identifying both our passion and vitality for practice, as well as the unseen obstacles and pitfalls that can get in the way.

Yoga is life long practice, requiring commitment, staying power and resolve. There are certain qualities that we can bring to our practice, which are both physical but also psychological: Relaxation, Stability and Vividness, will be woven into the asana practice and meditation, along with Vigilance (intentional effort) and Carefulness, an invitation to slow down in body, speech and mind.

Venue: Monmouth Priory
Time: 10 am - 4:30pm
Cost: £50 for the full day, £25 for half a day (10am-1pm).
Places will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis and priority will be given to those who can come for the whole day.
Lunch: We will bring our own. There is a kitchen if you need to heat up soup or make hot drinks and we can eat in the Quiet Room.
Please bring: Lunch, yoga mat, 2 small cushions, a bolster if you have one and a blanket.

The day will blend Yin and Yang Yoga, with formal meditation and insight practice.

The Nature of Happiness and Art of Wellbeing

What is Happiness and what does it mean to me right now? What do I need in order to be happy? What would I like to add to my life and what would I like to let go off? When is happiness absent and why?

What entrenched habits would we like to interrupt in our lives that perhaps get in the way of genuine happiness and well-being? What would I like to heal and take responsibility for? What is most important to me, knowing that my life is fleeting? What is most precious ?

Positive Mental health is the biggest single predictor of individual happiness and wellbeing, as well as meaningful, nourishing relationships. Mindfulness is one way we can train, in helping ourselves to become more genuinely happy.

May I enjoy happiness and cultivate its causes
May I learn to live the art of happiness
For the benefit of all Beings.

Cost and Lunch arrangements are still to be decided. I’m hoping to team up with Kather’s Kitchen (katherskitchen.co.uk) and provide a delicious Spring menu for lunch.
